Why do I need

one?

A typical home inspection starts at the roof and ends at the foundation and includes reviews of the homes major systems along the way. You will receive documentation and photos outlining the various systems of your home, suggestions for improvements, recommended maintenance and finally, a summary of items for which repairs or replacement are necessary. The most common feedback from clients has been that their home inspection was a very positive and educational experience that has helped them gain confidence in their buying decision. In the end, you will have the information you need to move forward and make the best choice for yourself and your family.

What to expect

Most of your inspection will be related to maintenance recommendations and minor imperfections.  These are good to know about. However the issues that really matter will fall into four categories Major defects, such as a structural failure Conditions that can lead to major defects, such as a roof leak; Issues that may hinder your ability to finance, legally occupy or insure the home if not rectified immediately Safety hazards, such as an exposed, live buss bar at the electrical panel. Anything in these categories should be addressed as soon as possible. Often, a serious problem can be corrected inexpensively to protect both life and property.

What Matters

Kirwynd Real Estate Services is owned and operated by myself, Wayne Thurber. I'm a full time, InterNACHI certified professional home inspector serving the beautiful Annapolis Valley and surrounding areas. My passion has always been for architecture and real estate, and this career has given me the privilege of being involved with it every day. I'm a very analytical, yet creative and detail oriented person; which allows me to not only see what's wrong, but also to understand why. Prior to becoming a full time home inspector, I was heavily involved in the construction industry. In the past, I've owned and substantially renovated homes of just about every architectural style and period from the last 150 years, while at the same time acting as the general contractor of my own new home construction company. My practical experience, education and communication skills will help to ensure that you receive the most thorough and informative inspection possible in order to make your decisions with confidence.
